'In the Temple of Dreams'

On September of 1996, at the same time as the Film Retrospective, Living Time® Films Ltd. organized a conference on the filmic and literary work of Alain Robbe-Grillet. This conference took place at Oxford University on the 25th of September and assembled together the world authorities on Robbe-Grillet's work, speakers coming from as far afield as New York, North Carolina, California, New Zealand and North Africa plus Mr. Alain Robbe-Grillet himself.
A filmed record was made of the conference and proceedings were collated in a book published by Living Time® Press. - Some further details on the conference proceedings have been provided below.

More About 'In the Temple of Dreams'

The day began with a talk by Alain Robbe-Grillet on the rela- tionship between writing and film-making in his life. This was followed by 6 papers looking at key themes in his work, ending in an open discussion which allowed the audience to interact with all speakers. The conference was hosted by Ian Christie, Film Lecturer and Member of the British Academy, and Ann Jefferson, Head of Robbe-Grillet studies at Oxford University.
