Moving Onwards
Alain Robbe-Grillet's visit to England
in September of 1996 signalled the first stage of shooting for
the film 'Last Year at Marianske Lazne'. A video chroni-
cle taken at the time covered key events during his visit - his
arrival in London, his talk at the Oxford Conference on September
25th, his stay at the Insti- tut français in London
and his personal response to a request to talk about the way
dreams are infused in his work and how he made the passage from
being a novelist to being a film-maker. In addition to this,
individual interviews were filmed both with Robbe- Grillet himself
