'The Blue Villa'

Living Time®'s 1st cinema release was 'The Blue Villa', Robbe-Grillet's latest feature film starring Hollywood actor Fred Ward and French Star Arielle Dombasle. Co-directed with Belgian director Dimitri De Clercq, 'The Blue Villa' proved to be a critical success, being officially selected for the Berlin Film Festival in 1995 and winning first prize at San Diego Film Festival in 1996. 'The Blue Villa' was in some ways a rework- ing of the legend of the Flying Dutchman, this being doubly emphasized by Robbe-Grillet's use of Wagner. Produced by Nomad Films in 1994 and shot entirely on the island of Hydra, the film was first released in September of 1995 in New York and in November of that same year in Paris. It received its UK premiere at the French Institute on the 27th September in the presence of the film-makers, opening on the 18th October 1996 at the Everyman Cinema in London and Pictureville Cinema in Bradford, then appearing at other cinemas nationwide over the coming months. It received excellent reviews from 'Film Review', 'The Daily Telegraph', 'Sight and Sound' and other press.
